New advances in information technology led to the development of Expert Systems and their application various sectors including farming. In India, agricultural production has been transformed into a multifaceted business enterprise. Indian agriculture remain competitive needs accumulation integration scientific knowledge, from many diverse sources. farmer often relies on specialists, advisors research institutes for better decision making at actual farm situation. Unfortunately, timely specialist assistance is not available when needs. Thus situation demand ‘virtual expert’ who can give personalized expert advice large community farmers, specific aspirations considering knowledge The role systems tobacco sector its applications effective protection technologies have discussed this article.
